My husband and I have become a resource family, which is the new and improved term for foster parents. For the sake of everyone's privacy, I can't go into details. Let's just say that I have a little girl here who I have decided to devote my time to for as long as I'm needed. I don't want any pats on the back or cookies, what I'm doing is fulfilling by itself, I just figured I'd let you guys know in case anyone starts to wonder where old woman Koeb has gone. Plus there's that whole thing with having to work and finish culinary school, but you know how that is.
Anyway, kids, be good out there. I'll stop in to visit once in a while with a silly doodle. You might see me on my tumblr even, with my culinary school stuff. Until we meet again~

Someone tried to reset my password apparently, and reminded me about this site.
It’s been a while! Uh, does anyone want me to draw some stuff?
I'm going to have a girl.
And I am really tired most of the time. It turns out making a new human being takes a lot out of you. However, I am also super excited.
So I was in a car crash.
That is not an experience I recommend. I'm okay, everyone else is okay, thankfully. No injuries in either party. I'm just sore from the impact.
In case you're wondering, my husband was driving us to dinner and had the green light. The other driver was a teen making a left turn from the opposite direction. She was supposed to be yielding, but thought she had enough time to make the turn. My husband didn't see her until it was too late. So the kid's car (well, her parent's car) is totaled and my husband's truck is in the shop. But, hey, you can replace cars. You can't replace people.
Life is a fragile thing. Be safe out there, everyone.
Bitter-sweet
As you may already know, my husband and I have been fostering a marvelous little girl this year. The primary goal in foster care is for reunification to occur with the child's biological family. Last week, my girl went back to her mother. I wish them both nothing but the best, and hope everything goes well, but it still hurts a lot to see that kid go. There have been tears. However, we will all keep in touch with one another. So it's not like a permanent goodbye. More of a 'See you in a while, crocodile'.
